How do I handle hsa transfer to another hsa but is showing up as a distribution on 1099 sa. Seems you can only select yes/no to it if it is/is not a medical exp. I transfer it from an employer based hsa account to Fidelity to invest it
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
In the HSA interview when you enter the 1099-SA, you should see:
1. The entry boxes for the 1099-SA
2. The boxes with your personal information
3. The question, "Did you spend your HSA money on medical expenses only?"
4. You answer NO and two more lines appear.
5. Enter that "I didn't spend any of it on medical expenses", and a new line will appear.
6. On this new line, enter the amount of the distribution that was rolled over into another HSA.
You're done.

Thanks, I think I missed it because of the “no”
Not surprising. It's hard to read ahead in TurboTax 😉
