I click on edit and it just keeps taking me back to the done screen, nothing will let me edit, like I'm frozen and [removed].

None of that worked.
Also, it may be because your income doesn't reach the filing threshold for the year. To clarify, what is your income level and filing status?
I'm not going to give that to you, but even when you don't reach the threshold, you are allowed to enter the expenses. I was able to add some, but when I needed to edit I have not been able to. There must be a glitch, I can edit everything else.
In response to my previous post, I apologize asking you to divulge your income information. I was just trying to determine if you did meet the filing threshold for claiming itemized deductions, which your medical expenses would be a part of.
For tax year 2022, the standard deductions amounts $25,900 for joint filers, $19,400 for heads of household, and $12,950 for single filers and those married filing separately. $12,950. If your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) did not exceed these amounts, the program may have recognized this and not allow you enter your medical expenses. I don't know if this is specific to you but I have worked for Turbo Tax for 9 years and I have seen anomalies like this occur.
Keep in mind, as you enter your medical expenses, you may or may not have enough itemized expenses to claim that exceed the standard deduction amounts already mentioned. If you have other large deductions such mortgage payments, property taxes, charitable donations to claim in addition to your medical expenses, then you may have enough expenses that are over and above the standard deduction amount(s).
In reading your earlier post, you mentioned you cleared your cache and cookies that was suggested by the previous agent because that is what I would suggest also. If you still wish to enter your medical expenses, I suggest contacting live tax/product support and share your screen with them to see if they can help troubleshoot the issue and possibly submit a service ticket if needed.
I have the same issue. I am unable to edit my medical expenses in my desktop Turbotax Deluxe for PC. I am able to edit all of the other sections with no problem. This glitch needs to be fixed. When I try to update all I get is the message "Thanks, we got all your Medical Expense info".
Please confirm that in TurboTax for Desktop, when you choose Deductions & Credits:
If this is not the interview sequence you are experiencing, please provide specific info of where the program does or does not work.
Sure, you get that initially. But, as I do my taxes in pieces, I skipped over that (as I do EVERY year) with the plan to go back and edit when I've finished calculating it. But you can't. You just keep getting the DONE page with no way to edit, while every other category allows editing.
I just went ahead and entered the medical expenses myself on Turbotax desktop . I also entered other sections like stock sales and income from a Sch k-1. Sure enough, I went back to Deductions and Credits/Medical Expenses like this
I hit the Update button, and sure enough, I was able to change any figure I wanted to. Try clearing cache and ccokies again.
sign out and sign back into the program again. @DaveF 1006 You may also try live support if all this still doesn't help.
