Form CCC - 1099-G - Agricultural Payments

Once again, I find it almost impossible to get to the "Ask a Question" place - I wish Turbotax would fix that.

But now my question.  I have received a couple of 1099-G Agricultural Payment forms.  Actually I have 2 questions:

1)  First it is not clear what to answer when Turbotax asks if you want to Exclude any of the payments - but Turbotax does not define "Exclude" i.e. the reason you might want to or can Exclude the payments.  (I think it is some special conservation program or something, and I think I should not try to Exclude any of the payments, but just don't know.)

2)  The more important question is - I have tried excluding all of the payments and excluding none ("0") of the payments.  But no matter which one of these things I have tried, I end up with an Entry on Line 6 (ATTACH A SCHEDULE F) of Schedule 1.  This is not a Schedule F farm - I have always filed a Form 4835 for my farming income, NEVER a Schedule F - Schedule F does not apply to me (I am just share-cropping and don't materially participate) - so how did a Schedule F get involved here.

How do I fix this situation?   (And P.S.  the Line 6 entry doesn't match either of the 1099-G payments.)

According to the IRS, the payment belongs on Schedule F.

I am quoting the IRS. From Pub 225:

Agricultural Program Payments

You must include in income most government payments, such as those for approved conservation practices, livestock indemnity payments, or livestock forage disaster payments whether you receive them in cash, materials, services, or commodity certificates. However, you can exclude from income some payments you receive under certain cost-sharing conservation programs. See Cost-Sharing Exclusion (Improvements), later.

Report the agricultural program payment on the appropriate line of Schedule F, Part I. Report the full amount even if you return a government check for cancellation, refund any of the payment you receive, or the government collects all or part of the payment from you by reducing the amount of some other payment or Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) loan. However, you can deduct the amount you refund or return or that reduces some other payment or loan to you. Claim the deduction on Schedule F, Part II, for the year of repayment or reduction.

YES - SORRY - I FOUND IT!

DO NOT CHECK "I received income from operating a farm" at the beginning of the questions on Farm Income and Farm Expenses.

Either a newly worded question OR I am just getting old and senile for not knowing or remembering that question.  Please ignore my rant - Turbotax is now back on my good side.

Form CCC - 1099-G - Agricultural Payments

Where and how should I record a Form ccc -1099 - G  or would I use 1099 G form?

Sorry, don't remember exactly where right now - I think it depends on which type of 1099-G it is (state tax refund, CCC payments, etc.).  I am pretty sure there is a place in the Income section of Turbotax that specifically asks if you have a 1099-G to report.  It even asks for the codes in certain boxes and uses that to place the income in the right place.

It looks like yours is a CCC, and if I remember correctly, I reported it in that earlier Income section - before I even got to the Farm (own or rent) section - and then when I got there (the farm section), there was the 1099-G information correctly placed for me.
