I resubmitted after the first rejection but prior to the update I found this AM.  My resulting credit is the same so I wonder if I will get another rejection or if it will be accepted.  Wait and see I guess.....

Third time was a charm. Fed & State accepted. Now have to mail Form 8453 and form 8949. Hope I finish before 2020 taxes are due!

Fourth time was a charm for me. Finally.

Today I updated the TT software and didn’t change anything else other than efile again. Rejected.....again. Why are we using TT vs H&R. I keep reading H&R users are having no problems. Can we request a refund and switch over at this point?

I tried getting a hold of TT on Twitter and they haven’t replied to me in 2 days.

Call them on the phone and get a supervisor, and they can issue you a credit.

If thousands of us stop using TT and go to others like H&R Block, maybe they will get their act together.

@jcoop12 are they issuing a credit for their blunders and you still plan on using TT, or they are refunding you and deactivating your license and you are going to H&R Block?

My returns were rejected again today....due to form 8936. It says on Feb 20th. Where is it?

Have you read the above comments?  You may have to delete form 1095-A and re-enter it.

Is this fix fully rolled out now or is it in phases? I've tried all the steps noted above multiple times and i'm getting the same calculation no change. I'm in Washington by the way.

My returns were rejected last week.  I deleted form 8936, cleared cookies, created a new form with the same info provided previously and then refiled this evening.  TT is indicating a Federal refund of the total EV credit minus what I owed for Federal.  That doesn't seem correct.  I thought the EV purchase credit could only take you to zero, not result in a refund.

A tax credit is the same as if you pre-paid your taxes.  So yes, you may get a refund.

Hello,

My Federal and State was rejected due to form 8936. Why hasn't Turbotax updated this form, its still not calculating correctly

I filed my return on 2/14/20 and it was accepted, but it also shows still processing by the IRS. I received my CA refund on 3/3/20 as well. I keep checking everyday to see if it updates, but nothing. Has anyone actually gotten their refund using this form?

@jortiz93 I filed on 2/20/2020 because that was the first time the form was actually correct and submitting for me? How did you manage to submit on the 14th, the form on the 14th was calculating incorrectly and shortly afterwards turbotax themselves started rejecting submissions until they got the form corrected. That *might* be why yours is taking longer? Was yours the full $7500, or did you have a partial phase out at $3750 or lower? The full amount would've calculated correctly but the phase out ones were being entered completely wrong by turbotax.

In any case, I filed on 2/20 and it was accepted, and I just got my refund this morning. Still waiting on the CO refund... but that one is another $5k EV credit so could be why it's taking longer, too.

@119469   Good to know your Federal refund deposited today if you filed on 2-20-20 (and Accepted that day).
