That's the ironic part, I do not have a carryover. I am just trying to report that I paid $19 in Foreign Taxes, as noted on a 1099-DIV, but TurboTax keeps telling me that I need to work on Tax Form 1116 when I review my taxes before filing. Then it says that if the forms are not available, they will help me complete them on the date shown below, but no date is listed. Any ideas if and when I can properly file my taxes electronically via TurboTax? Concerned that this message appears every time I review my taxes before filing.
Thank you!!
I'm having the same issue. No 2020 carryover. Just claiming the credit for Foreign Taxes paid in 2021. I want to file, but I keep getting the same error message when I run the Federal Review. Hopefully, someone from Turbo Tax will respond.
Try the review of federal again; I think the issue has been resolved. I went back to the area in TurboTax to review the foreign tax credit Q&A and then did another federal review of my return and that message no longer populated. Very frustrating, but, in the end, it worked for me. Good luck!
I'm having the same problem. I tried the federal review this morning (3/6/2022) and get the same error, the form is under construction and TT will help complete the form on the available date and the date is 0. I went back to the foreign tax credit portion of TT and completed it again. There is only 1 copy of form 1116 in my return. And still the same error. How does this get resolved?
It's now 4/4 and I'm still getting stuck at this point. What is the solution?
Anyone have any luck with this? I am having the same issue except the entire page locks up and I have to restart everything every time I do the federal review.
