Error on Form 5695 Residential Energy Credits

And, I wish instead of 5 failed dates someone would say, "We have no idea and here's the federal email to which you should complain," or words to that effect.

Us users who are ready on 04 Jan, are probably also capable of planning for arrival of our refund(s).

Once you go past the 29th we're in with the herd and there's no way to plan

It's not TT fault that the form is not ready, it's the 5 failed promises and no sharing of where taxpayers should direct their valid frustration with lawmakers or whoever

But with unknown, there wouldn't be any broken expectations. The complaints might rightly center on "to whom DO we complain?"

There is no one to complain to ... this is a situation that will be operational when it is and not before it is ... complaining about it will not get things fixed any faster.

Okay, I'll wait for 2/7/2024.  The Heat Pump credit of $2000 is only giving $300.  I can do the 5695 by hand and get the $2000.  Your (Intuit) help person wasn't much help.  After reading this long thread I would have expected your staff to be aware!

Well, Critter of Level 15, I've already sent feedback to the IRS on their incompetence in this matter.

You see, Critter, there's ALWAYS a responsible party and in the case of the US government, complaining is one of the reasons anything gets done.

The problem with this blog Is that no one seems to care to answer responsibly.

We'll just have to wait for the 7th (subject to change).

I tried overriding to cancel this document (all I have are carryovers that I'll never use), but then I can't efile my state return....a whole different glitch???

Just installed a Trane XR16, according to all the reseach I found I should recieve a $600 credit for the AC and a $600 credit for the furnace, $1,200 max. Still waiting for TurboTax to update their forms. 🙂

Nothing as of yet and today is the arbitrary deadline.  Will be interesting to see if they punt again.

This is scheduled to be fixed with the February 7 update. The updates generally happen at night. It should be available February 8.

so now that we are at 2/7/24, why am I still not able to file my taxes?  says form 5695 is still not available.  do I need to wait to tomorrow?

February 8.  The energy credit for my insulation is now calculating correcttly.  30% with a $1,200 maximum.  Thanks Turbo Tax.
