I have four accounts at Schwab. Downloaded three of them and the next day downloaded the fourth. However, downloading the fourth deleted the other three. I specifically check to download only the one fourth account. Is this a problem with TT? Do you have to download all accounts from a given brokerage firm at once.
This is a very frustrating problem with TT - either doubling up downloaded accounts or deleting ones that should not be deleted.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
I'm trying to pinpoint what is happening here. Can you try this again but make sure you are completely logged out of your bank accounts in all other browser tabs before starting. Then try the next import. Can you let me know if this works?
I have tried this multiple times and the same problem. In the past TT duplicated the entries if you did a second download. Now, it deletes ALL previous entries (from a given financial institution) and then just downloads the specific one you want. It looks to me like I have to manually delete all of the Schwab entries and then do the download again with all of my accounts. It is a timing problem when Schwab does not release all of the 1099s at the same time and you want to do taxes piece by piece.
I wish TT managed this by specific account numbers within Schwab and not just all accounts as a bunch from a single financial institution. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong, but I have tried this several times.
Can you answer these question for me so we can troubleshoot this?
Here are answers to your questions:
Yes, requested to logon a second time to both Intuit and Schwab. All attempts were on separate days so everything had closed from before.
Yes, so, did close the browser (Chrome)
Was I in a browser? All of this was handled by TurboTax from their desktop system.
Did not use incognito mode in the browser (Chrome). I can try that and will let you know.
However, I have decided that Turbo Tax simply does not handle repeat downloads from the same financial institution properly. So, I will delete all accounts I already downloaded from Schwab and wait, wait, wait for Schwab to make all of them available at one time.
Also, it would be nice if TurboTax did this by financial institution AND ACCOUNT NUMBER. On my dividend listings in TT, it just shows: Schwab, Schwab, Schwab - and the only way I know which account is to look at the dividend amount and compare with the paper 1099.
