Hi,
I filed my taxes with TurboTax in 2019 and was able to claim the DC Schedule H rental tax credit because my AGI fell below the federal AGI threshold. When I attempted to do the same this year, I was told "Your total household gross income is xxxx. Since this amount exceeds the threshold of $55k, you do not qualify."
I've checked the actual Schedule H form that DC put up for 2020, and it still has you claiming "Federal adjusted gross income of the tax filing unit" so I'm not sure why TurboTax is using the household gross income calculation that hasn't been adjusted. (It seems like the difference for me is that the household gross isn't including the standard deduction of ~12k, which would put me below the threshold to receive the credit!)
Does anyone have any experience with why this seems to have changed? Or is this a glitch in Turbo Tax's calculations?

The DC Schedule H Rent Credit should never have been calculated on AGI. It is calculated on the gross household income and limited to gross household income under $20,000.
Here is the Schedule H Rent Credit Information.
Hi, I think that might be an older version (it looks like from ~2010 Schedule H?) It has the household gross cap as $20,000, whereas the message I'm getting from turbotax is that the "household gross cap is $55,000"...but the 2020 updates for DC Schedule H show that the requirement is based on AGI at that amount:
And this is mirrored in the actual Schedule H pages for 2020 where it says to input federal AGI?

For 2019 taxes you can file an amendment, but you can claim the 2019 and 2020 stimulus on your 2020 return.
For 2020 taxes, you can get your return back if you click the link below and do it today.
If you would like to review and update the Recovery Rebate Credit portion of your 2020 tax return before it is sent to the IRS when they open on February 12th, please enter your information here by February 6 to register to have your 2020 tax return sent back to you.
You will then receive an email from TurboTax on February 8, letting you know that your return is available and providing you with detailed instructions on how to review, update and re-file your tax return.
