Thanks @jtrevor99 , I switched from Credit to Deduction but since the forms are now available I wanted to switch back. How do I do that in the online version? Since I already paid, TurboTax doesn't allow me to clear or start over. Is there a specific Form I can delete or re-do some entry so I can select between Credit and Deduction again?
Well, I got done what I needed to and hit Transmits Returns Now. Also got an error:
I guess I'll try calling Intuit on Monday if it's not working by then.
Also got error because TTax couldn't find/attach 1116 schedule B for transmission.
I too will try again in a couple days.

Thanks to all who figured this out for the rest of us. I was finally able to e-file. It worked for me by saving the PDF to C:/attachment with the name Form1116ScheduleB.pdf. Just received an email from Turbo Tax that the Federal return was accepted - yippee!
@Sonnyof42 A bit more info: I tried putting Form1116ScheduleB.pdf in /Users/(my username)/Documents/attachment and in /Users/(my username)/attachment and in /Users/attachment. None of those worked. On the Mac, the root directory is read only, even to Sudo commands in Terminal. So I've not been able to create /attachment to try it there. If there is a secret place to stash the /attachment/Form1116ScheduleB.pdf file on a Mac, I have not found it.
I have a Windows virtual machine, so I suppose I can see if I can download a copy of the Windows version and see if it will open my Mac-created file. Then do the C:\attachment trick. That's a project for another day.
I use the desktop version, but I assume you can do the same as I did. Revisit the Foreign Taxes section, choose that you want to take a credit, and then when you get to the part that would have shown the ten years of Foreign Tax Credit Carryovers for Regular Tax and AMT, manually enter the numbers from last year's tax return. The numbers are on the Foreign Tax Credit Carryover Statement (which would have been filed) and on the Foreign Tax Credit Computation Worksheet (which is not filed). If you don't have pdf copies or access to last year's return or worksheets, I don't know what you'd do.
Thanks, seem this option is not available for the online version. When I revisit the Foreign Taxes section there's no such option available anymore.
1. When I tried to Transmit after passing all tests, a message came up that it couldn't find "Form1116ScheduleB". Well, I made a PDF of that form but I cannot find anyplace to attach it to the return. Please give specific instructions how to attach the required PDF to the return in TurboTax Deluxe 2021. (A Search shows some professional systems allow attachments.)
2. If this is not possible, do I have to Delete the Schedule B? And will doing this increase my amount owing to the IRS? (I have LOTS of carryover.)
I really don't want my mailed return sitting in an In-box someplace in the bowels of the IRS for the next 10 months.
Decided not to wait for the weekend. Downloaded Win version of TT, installed it in Win10 in Parallels Desktop, copied the TT file from my Mac over there, created C:\attachment, put Form1116ScheduleB.pdf in that directory and transmitted. SUCCESS!
Copied the TT file back to Mac and opened it and it shows as eFiled there.
I'm pretty amazed that you can move the TT file back and forth between Win and Mac so seamlessly. Now to just wait for an acceptance message and I'll be all set.
Thanks for the inspiration to try this and to @LarryDean for the huge hint on where to stash the PDF file.
Now only hoping that the PDF attachment doesn't put the return into long-wait-limbo at the IRS. 😉
CanTex, your questions have already been answered in this thread several times.

Are you on Win or Mac? On Win, you need to create a directory (folder) at the root level C:\attachment
Put the PDF there with filename Form1116ScheduleB.pdf
(filename must be exact)
Then transmit. Turbotax should pick up the attachment. Thanks to @LarryDean for sussing this out.
On Mac, I think you are out of luck for now. I'm a Mac guy and I moved my return over to Win virtual machine to transmit it (see my recent post in this thread). Maybe they'll get the Mac version figured out. For Mac, if you don't have access to a Win machine, you may want to call support and see if there's a secret place to stash the PDF. I tried a bunch of places and none of them worked. You only get an extremely generic error message on Mac which is no help figuring out where to put the PDF.
If the root drive on the Mac is read only, you may be out of luck. I tried putting the "attachment" subfolder with the Form1116ScheduleB pdf in my TurboTax folder and also in the Documents folder and neither of these worked for me either. Since I was a PC guy for over 30 years before switching to a MacBook last year, I'm not as familiar with the internal workings of a Mac as I am with the PC, so I was reluctant to even try to install anything on the root drive of the Mac. So I just went back to my desktop PC and it worked there. Best bet probably still is to wait and see if TurboTax installs an update; a lot less trouble.
Thanks! This worked for me, but a pain in the neck.

Glad it worked. Mine was accepted within 20 minutes. I transfer all kinds of files between my MacBook and desktop PC (Excel, Word, Pdf, TurboTax, etc.) and they work fine on either machine. My Mac-oriented son helped me confirm this would work before I switched to the MacBook.
