The efile rejection happens when your return is missing Form 1095-A Health Insurance Marketplace Statement. The IRS compares the information you enter on your return with what they have in their database. When something's missing or mismatched, your return gets rejected.
There are two reasons your return could be rejected if you weren't covered at all in 2022 through the Marketplace.
1. A form could be stuck in your return, prompting the rejection. If you have already attempted to e-file your return but were rejected with code F8962-070, you may find that you won't be able to answer No to the question Did you receive a Form 1095-A? When you select No, TurboTax will revert your selection back to Yes. This is because Forms 1095-A and 8962 are currently included in your return.
2. The IRS has information that someone in your household should have a 1095-A. This could be because you or a dependent had Marketplace insurance in a previous year, or because a form is stuck in your return.

How do I fix efile reject when you weren't covered through the Marketplace?
We already verified this with the market place and it was investigated and they voided out the form but I still had to enter the information and they took some of our refund
What my advice to you is is to file an amended return leaving the 1095A off of the return. What you will need to do is print and mail your amended return instead of efiling it.
Include a detailed explanation or report informing the IRS that there was an investigation conducted and the marketplace has voided the 1095A. Be as detailed as possible tat includes all documentation received proving that the marketplace voided the 1095A. Be as detailed as possible in your statement.

we have decided to mail in our tax refund with all of our paperwork and the cancellation of the health insurance we never had. Hopefully they will fix our return

I also recommend you use a certified mail receipt so you can track your return delivery. This will also provide proof of mailing in case of any issues with the IRS.

It is a shame that IRS is not on the same page as health. Gov. This took us 3 months already to clear this up and they are saying it is still wrong. It was fraud and we had a case number. Now we have to wait for a refund. Not right
We tried to file our taxes this year and we were also told that we need a 1095A. The marketplace or someone at the insurance company signed me up without my permission and now they want to take $1444.00 out of refund . We have been fighting with them for 3 months and this was fraud. They sent us back a corrected form and a voided out form. We tried again and we were rejected so we put all of our paperwork they sent us along with our 2022 tax returns and mailed them to the IRS for them to look at this. What do we do. We already had insurance with our employer
It sounds like you have taken the right steps to get this resolved. The IRS has a review process for Forms 8962 and part of that is reviewing documentation from the Marketplace. If they need anything in addition, they will send a letter and state specifically what they need, the date they need it before they make an adjustment, and how to send information to that particular group.
I just hope this doesn’t take forever. How can they get away with this. We thought health.gov was connected to the IRS and they should know better.
You should be able to add a statement to that era. Saying that you did not receive a 1095. Are you did not have Health Insurance through the marketplace. Or just go fretaxusa they got the update 🙏🏾
