Yes. Same here.
I change the answer to "NO" and when I go back to check that it's still "NO", I see that Turbo Tax has changed the answer to "YES."
This is a Turbo Tax error.
Not an IRS issue.
First, try the instructions that @HopeS put here on how to delete the 1095-A from your return. It may be that that data has just flowed forward from a prior year and is hanging up your son's return.
If that doesn't work then delete the return and start over. Some data from the 1095-A is getting into the return and holding this up. You may have to start it over to make it go away.
That's not true. I'm using the Deluxe edition and it's not working.
Don't pay as that didn't work.
Please clarify - what's not working? Deleting the form or starting over?
Healthcare Marketplace confirms that I've not had a 1095-A from them for four years. Previous years since I did have one were no problem filing with Turbo Tax.
Why is your program defaulting to yes even after we enter no and continue? This is before we even submit so the program can't be talking to the Marketplace.
I talked to one of your agents who had me say yes, then enter dummy zeros and ones in the 1095-A form that I didn't receive... then delete the form and submit. She said that was the fix they were told to give to callers with this problem. I did it and got rejected again.
Again, Marketplace says it's not them. They aren't showing I had insurance for the last 3 years and no 1095-A has been generated for 2022 (or 2021 or 2020).
This is so frustrating.
I'm sorry for the confusion. Someone had posted that they were going to upgrade to Deluxe thinking that was the solution. I have Deluxe and still have the issue. So, upgrading to Deluxe is not the solution.
Bob -
I followed Dave's instructions. And was rejected again.
I followed Hope's instructions and was rejected again.
I then called - followed the instructions from one of your phone reps who was looking at my return while we talked... Did what she said... and was rejected.
So, your saying I have to completely delete the return and start over. If I enter the same information, won't I have the same problem?
I'm using a downloaded edition of TurboTax on my computer. Is the online edition having the same issue?
It's not a widespread issue so it shouldn't be happening on either of them.
I suggested deleting the return and starting over because I assume something was added to the return when it was created that could be avoided when you recreated the return. But if you are going to try starting over I recommend not rolling over the data from prior years and starting over with nothing.
I have tried to recreate this error in TurboTax desktop 2022 and it has not happened so starting over is the best advice I have right now.
This suggestion didn’t work. This is my 4th rejection. Extremely frustrating. I’m considering mailing my return in with proof of 1095-C, although that usually isn’t required. Totally defeated the purpose of TurboTax
We’re we’re rejected also and the health gov voided it out but I still had to enter it in turbo tax and it lowered our refund. Will they correct our tax return so we get the full amount back after they review
Yes, the IRS should make the adjustment and issue you a full refund.
We have a voided out marketplace form and we had to include that in our taxes or we would be rejected. They are taking our money and they shouldn’t because we don’t have the insurance and there was an investigation
Hi Dave
you are saying that IRS will correct our refund. We never signed up for the marketplace insurance and there was an investigation and we were not at fault so why aren’t we getting our full refund
You may need to contact the IRS for further details. if there is an investigation done and if the IRS discovers you were not required to report a 1095A, you should receive a full refund. You might also consult a tax advocate at this website to assist you.
