The process seems to have worked to make Turbotax software happy and sent the eFile. Will see how the eFile acceptance process goes. I checked with Medicare and my supplemental health insurance companies which are "Affordable Healthcare Act" approved, and neither of them send Form 1095A anymore, so not sure why IRS is making us jump through this hoop.
'Affordable healthcare approved' just means the plan meets essential minimum coverage. You will only get a 1095-A if you had your coverage through healthcare.gov or a state marketplace. These are the only plans that factor in a Premium Tax Credit (PTC) and therefore require 1095-A. The 1095-A is generated to reconcile the PTC. @Wisconsin-Ken
