Question about Recovery Rebate Credit Worksheet

I am finishing up my tax returns for 2021 and TurboTax has found an error in my federal return. I'm filing a joint return with my spouse. We received all of the stimulus payments to which we were entitled in 2020 and 2021. TurboTax is checking the entry for the "Recovery Rebate Credit Worksheet: Line 13 - Economic stimulus payment received previously must be entered. If none was received then enter zero (0)."

Should I enter the total amount that both my spouse and I received for 2020 AND 2021, or for 2021 ONLY? I'm using the desktop version of TurboTax Premier. Thank you for your help.

Question about Recovery Rebate Credit Worksheet

You are only being asked about the 3rd EIP payment ---- the one for $1400 per person---- not any other stimulus payments.   You should have letter 6475 for that stimulus payment.   Or check your bank account for deposits of $1400 per person.   You can also check your online IRS account.

You are NOT being asked about the EIP payments of $1200 or $600.    Only the one for $1400.

The question, however, if a couple received the Recovery Rebate Credit should one put $2,800 in the field?

Yes, you should put the entire amount received by the taxpayer(s) listed on the return.
