Non US spouse transfer money to my account for mortgage payment

My wife is a non US citizen and she and I both work and live abroad in Japan. We've saved up a good amount of money and want to transfer at least 100,000 USD to make a big payment on my US mortgage. If she transfers the money to my US account, what taxes do I have to pay?

A "gift" is never taxed. But you "MAY OR MAY NOT" be required to report it. See https://www.irs.gov/businesses/gifts-from-foreign-person
