Can I claim energy improvements for my house that I do not live in yet?

I bought a house in 2015 and have been making many improvements to it such as insulation, new windows, and a better furnace so I will save on energy costs in the long run, however I do not have it as my current address yet because it is undergoing construction. So my question is can I say that it is my main home so I can get credit for all these improvements? I am the sole name on the deed, I pay the taxes on it, etc. I just live with family until it is move in ready so it is not my current address.

No. Because of the requirements for energy-efficient improvement qualifications. They Must be made to your main home, second homes don't qualify, and Must be to an existing home, new construction doesn't qualify.
