I am 73, my wife is 66. I have noticed on 1040-SR form only the Standard Deduction has been taken the last several years. It's like they ignored the additional standard senior +65 deduction. I did not find anything on Schedule 1 or any worksheet that would have accounted for this deduction of our income, for me the past 7 years or my wife for the past 2 years. Am I missing something or did Intuit drop the ball? If they did drop the ball, I would be happy to send all my returns so they can file the adjusted returns for me. TWA

The additional enhanced senior deduction of $6,000 per taxpayer over age 65 is new for tax year 2025; you wouldn't see this on prior year tax forms. For this year, you would see it on Schedule 1-A Additional Deductions Line 37.
2025 IRS Form 1040 and 1040-SR instructions, What's New
And, the new 6000/12000 added Sr deduction is NOT a part of the Standard Deduction.
That new deduction shows up separately as part-or all of line 13b of the form 1040.

There is a slightly higher Std Deduction for those who reach age 65 in a particular tax year. You probably received it for filing 2024 taxes for yourself, but whether it also increase for you wife would depend on exactly which year she actually reached age 65.
The Std deduction for MFJ for the both of you for tax year 2025 (and both at leas age 65 in 2025) should show as 34,700 on line 12e of your form 1040...which is an increase of 3200over what a MFJ couple would get if both under age 65 in 2025.
Are you filing a Joint return? The additional 6,000 deduction (12,000 joint) is new starting for 2025 until 2028. And you can’t get it if you file separate returns. It is not part of your Standard Deduction. It is listed separately on 1040 line 13b. See my screenshot.
Here is the Joint Standard Deduction so you can check your returns
2025 Joint 31,500 + 1,600 for each 65 and over or blind (both 34,700)
2024 Joint 29,200 + 1,550 for each 65 and over or blind (both 32,300)
2023 Joint 27,700 + 1,500 for each 65 and over or blind (both 30,700)
2022 Joint 25,900 + 1,400 for each 65 and over or blind (both 28,700)
