Should I bother entering in all the itemized deduction details if I know they won't equal the standard deduction?

It depends on your state and what itemized deductions you have.  Some states still allow itemized deductions ...even if your federal tax return uses the standard deduction.

Some people prefer to go with the standard deduction and not enter their itemized deductions because they know the standard deduction will be higher.
