Is lost income (due to taking time off work) tax-deductible?

This question is for my 2019 income tax return.

In 2019, I took some days off work for my elderly father's medical care. He is my dependent in my 2019 tax return, by the way. Since I was paid by the hour, is my lost income tax-deductible?

Another related question: I took time off work for job-related training. Is the lost income (due to job-related training) tax-deductible?

No. You will just have less income to be taxed on.

is capital gains included in the taxable income limit of $96700 per married couple? Do we get to take off our standard deduction? IE How do they count our income regarding this taxed limit? Which line of the 1040 is the determining amount ?
