Medical
expenses are only deductible if they are for the cure, mitigation, treatment,
or prevention of disease, and the costs are for treatments affecting any part
or function of the body.
If the procedure was prescribed by a physician, you can deduct if you itemize and the total expenses for you, your spouse, and your
dependents exceed 7.5 % of your adjusted gross income.
The deduction is limited to the expenses above and beyond
this amount.
