I've refinanced my mortgage in 2020 and received three 1098 forms from different banks. When itemizing deductions, it seems the TurboTax software is adding all the mortgage principals from all my 1098 forms as if they were all ongoing different individual mortgages. In order to see what was going on, I paid for TurboTax to get the Schedule A worksheet printout and it confirmed my suspicion. Short of "modifying" the 1098 information, I've tried just about every combination of options to try and tell it that it should only use the principal from one of those 1098s. I've found multiple threads that have raised the same problem for the last couple years and have tried all the "fixes" but to no avail. If there's no way for TurboTax to do this calculation correctly, I may be better off filing without it. Any help would be much appreciated.

This is a known issue that Turbotax is attempting to suppress rather than fix
