If my bank or financial institution does not show up on the list to input my 1098, how do I report my mortgage interest statement?

There is always an option to make your own entry  ...

What you do...is ignore trying to select eh Mortgage holder, and continue on thru the pages to Type it in Myself.

OF course, if you want to get deductions for that, and other itemized deductions, you'll have to upgrade to one of the "pay-for-it" versions...meaning Deluxe or higher.    But don't worry about that now...the software will prompt you to upgrade IF...big IF...if your itemized deductions end up meeting the required minimums.  The standard deduction levels are pretty high now, so you may not go over that and might be able to continue to sue the Free version..."maybe"
