Claiming only the Child Tax credit will not delay your refund. Only refunds to taxpayers claiming the Earned Income credit and the Additional Child Tax credit will be delayed until after February 15.
If you qualify for the child tax credit it is added to your tax return automatically---you do not "claim" it. If you are getting the additional child tax credit--the refundable portion--then your refund is held per the PATH act .

Thanks so much for your response.
Thank you. Mine is the $50-0 entered on line 13a. The other lines are blank. So you are saying there will be no delay?
The $500 credit for other dependents does not delay your refund.
Once again thank you so much.
