I am Ohio resident and worked in Idaho for several months. I am filing taxes in both Ohio and Idaho. It appears my Ohio taxes are automatically adjusted to deduct the income that was taxed by Idaho. But when I try to complete the Idaho form 39NR it will not complete because it's expecting me to take deduction as an Idaho resident.
This appears to be a technical problem with Idaho form. I expected this is caused because of something I did incorrect during the initial setup for Idaho taxes. I would like to delete the Idaho and start again but can't find a way to do that.
I don't want to start all over because I will have pay to add Idaho again.

You must complete your non-resident Idaho return first, before you do the return for your home state of Ohio. Otherwise the "other state credit" will not be calculated and applied correctly.
Go back to the left side dark border and click on State. You can then begin the Idaho interview again and verify your resident status on the first screens.

thanks Tom,
I assumed there was a method that I didn't follow. Are you able to offer any details concerning how to delete the state taxes or will I need to delete the whole lot and start again?
Thanks again

Thanks Jeffrey,
I did find the prompt you mentioned I was trying to select individual state but needed to select state tax tab.
Thanks again.
I paid in excess of $10,000 in total state and local taxes. I thought the excess amount should be added to my deductions but it is not.
No, the deduction is limited to $10,000.
