It depends- you may qualify for the Foreign Income Exclusion- you have to meet the days out the U.S. so check carefully and file for extension if needed to qualify. See Filing Taxes While Overseas - TurboTax Tax Tips & Videos.

The state of Virginia states I can not claim a tax exempt status while deployed 365 Days overseas and has requested amendment and reduced my state refund to $0.
