My husband's w2 is showing he had a foreign income when he did not and i cannot properly file until i fix it. how do i do this? (its making me fill out a form 2555-s

Go back in "as if" you are going to enter another W-2. THen you can delete the problem W-2 and re-enter it anew. If the problem still occurs, then we'll check a few other areas one at a time so as to avoid confusion.

Now check under the Personal Info tab and work through his personal information. You're looking for the "did he earn money in another state" stuff. I'm assuming he did not, so NO should be selected.
Now, if at one time you selected YES and then later changed it to NO, I need to know that.

I selected no since we have not been outside of our state for two years.

Anything if box 12 of the W-2? If so, what code or codes?

Box 12 has D and GG

There is no valid code "GG", but there is a valid code "G" for box 12. Both of those indicate tax deferred retirement contributions. I've never seen both codes on a single W-2, as they are two different types of tax deferred retirement accounts. You sure you typed the codes right in your post above? The double "GG" just isn't valid.
I'm starting to think your W-2 may be messed up by the issuer.

and all of the taxes deferred are for his retirement fund yes

YOu mean box 1 and 3? Check your numbers. It's not at all uncommon for boxes 1 and 3 to be different. Generally, boxes 3 and 5 are the same though.

Are there any other sources of income reported on the tax return, besides W-2? I'm wondering if there is a problem, but the program's "error finding routines" are pointing you to the wrong place.

He had his GI bill paying for school, but it covered all his expenses for that and nothing else.
