The Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) program is a homebuyer assistance program designed to help lower‐income families afford home ownership. The program allows home buyers to claim a dollar‐for‐dollar tax credit for a portion of mortgage interest paid per year, up to $2,000.

Please follow the steps below to enter your "MCC tax credit" Mortgage Credit Certificate:

  1. Select the “Federal Taxes” tab
  2. Select the “Deductions & Credits” tab, then
  3. Scroll down to "Your Home” and click on "Show More"
  4. Scroll down to Mortgage Interest Credit Certificate and click on Start
  5. Answer “Yes” to “Do You Have a Mortgage Credit Certificate” and select “Continue
  6. Continue with through the step-by-step to enter your Mortgage Credit Certificate
