I entered in my home equity interest from form 1098-T. The audit checked mentioned I couldn't claim that interest if it wasn't used for home improvement. Do I delete it?

On the page where it asked for mortgage interest there was no stipulation that it was used for home improvement, just asked if I had a 1098 form. So, I'm not sure whether I was supposed to add the home equity loan interest on that page if I didn't use it all for home improvement?

Maybe this will help.  There's no restriction as to how you use the money as long as the debt is secured by the home and you own the home.
