I am told my 2022 Sales tax deduction is $2,010 but the only thing I entered is my sales tax percentage, which is 8.25%: I entered no major purchases (RV, Home, etc).

Yes, TurboTax uses the IRS Optional State Sales Tax Tables to figure the amount of your state sales tax.

It is based on your state, income and family size. You are allowed to add to that amount any major purchases like the sales tax paid on a an automobile. Click here to see the tables in the IRS instructions.
