Standard deductions for 2025
Single - $15.750 add $2,000 if age 65 or older
Married Filing Separately - $15,750 add $1,600 if age 65 or older
Married Filing Jointly - $31,500 add $1,600 for each spouse age 65 or older
Head of Household - $23,625 add $2,000 if age 65 or older
As DoninGa states above, the standard deduction for 2025 is:

In addition, if you are age 65 or older and single, you will get an additional $2,000. If you are Married Filing Separately and age 65 or older, you will get an additional $1,600. If you are Married Filing Jointly you will get an additional $1,600 for each spouse age 65 and over. Head of Household filers will get an additional $2,000 if age 65 or older.
Your standard deduction is based on several variables, such as your filing status, and age. Your standard deduction will directly reduce the amount of income that you will get taxed on.is a fixed dollar amount that reduces the amount of income you get taxed on.
Starting this year, a new, additional $6,000 deduction is available for seniors aged 65 or older ($12,000 for married couples if both qualify) under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). This is new deduction is in addition to the existing standard deduction and the existing 65 and older additional standard deduction.
