How do I remove the mortgage interest credit certificate off taxes

Delete the Form 8396

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen

Click on Tools

Click on Delete a form

IRS form 8396 Mortgage Interest Credit reports the mortgage interest credit for 2023 and any credit carryforward to 2024.

Delete the mortgage interest credit by:

• Down the left side of the screen, click Federal.
• Down the left side of the screen, click Deductions and Credits.
• Click Edit to the right of Mortgage Interest Credit Certificate.
• At the screen Here's the mortgage credit certificate info.., click the trashcan to the right.
