How do I contact customer support for tech issues? I have entered my medical expenses but the systems reasoning is giving false statements and I can not deduct them.

The system is stating that 7.5% of our ACI is greater than our medical expenses which however the number of the medical expenses are greater than the 7.5% of ACI that the system gives.

Or, to take a closer look at the situation to offer guidance or submit a report that something needs to be corrected, it would be very helpful to have a diagnostic copy of your tax file.  The diagnostic file will not contain personally identifiable information, only numbers related to your tax forms.  

 

If you would like to provide us with the diagnostic file, follow the instructions below and post the token number along with which version of TurboTax you are using and what states you are filing in a follow-up thread.  

 

Use these steps if you are using TurboTax Online:

 

  • Sign in to your account and be sure you are in your tax return.
  • Select Tax Tools in the menu to the left.
  • Select Tools.
  • Select Share my file with agent.
  • A pop-up message will appear, select OK to send the sanitized diagnostic copy to us.
  • Post the token number here. 

 

If you are using a CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, use these steps:

 

  • Select Online at the top of the screen.
  • Select Send Tax File to Agent.
  • Click OK.
  • Post the token number here.

Online TurboTax version for taxes inthe state of Arizona. Token Number is 1269713.

 

Despite the AI response saying that medical expenses are not being deducted, it does look like a portion of them are on the following screen. The number, though, does not seem to be the total of the Medical expenses minus the 7.5% of the AGI.

Did you enter any reimbursements at the end of entering medical expenses section?

 

IF so, that lowers the Medical Expense amount, since only the unreimbursed Med Expenses will be included.
