Thank you for clarifying this. To piggy back off this question. Deducting interest from the loan secured by the RV. We opened a trailer rental business in 2022. We reported income in 2022. However in 2023 due to natural disaster our trailer was not rent able and totaled in late 2023. Should I file the business in 2023 or just take the deduction on '2nd home mortgage interest in 2023'? Also, Can I deduct dedicated work space as a business here ( I have a dedicated office for this business in my home).
Lastly, regarding the teleworker. It is my understanding that we can not deduct this if we are a W-2 employee. Is this still the case in 2023? I thought this expired in 2025. If possible I am W-2 Teleworker (1 dedicated office in home) I would like to take this deduction but have not found a way since if you are a W-2 employee you are unable to do so with the tax changes in 2021?
