@VolvoGirl Well, thanks for the explanation but frankly darling I don't give a hoot. 😁😀😁. I still have no idea WHY that comment about price or increases was directed at me which was what I asked "why" about. In fact, I don't think ANYONE in this thread complained about cost or cost increasesI I never questioned or suggested price (I purchased the download at fixed price from Amazon months ago) printing, price increases and/or expirations and have shown no concerns about same.
My initial post here simply stated that the release date for 5695 was pushed back until Feb 7, then stated the actual 2023 correct form IS available on IRS.GOV and what is holding it up is the 2023 instructions not the form. SO somewhere along the way my comments are not being understood or read.
All I want to do is file my taxes. 😀
Is there an update on this? I still cannot get my energy credit of 1200! It's showing me $150.00
It's not loaded! Why can't Turbotax users get a direct answer that is accurate! So frustrating... .looking to use another application for my taxes!
@sggir the 'master' schedule for IRS forms says TT will have it available on the 7th of Feb now.
Here is the link to search all forms:
All the other tax programs are the same wrt that form.
Same question. First it was end of January. Then February 2 now February 7. I wish I could file my taxes as well.
I suspect the delay is due to not all heat pumps will qualify for the tax credit. There is a very specific spreadsheet on the CEE website that lists heat pump combinations that met the 2023 efficiency standards that qualify. (CEE Directory | AHRI (ahrinet.org)) I think if your heat pump is not on the list, you won't get the credit. The TurboTax questions might have to ask you your specific model of heat pump to determine if you qualify. They might not ask the question but, if you don't do it correctly, you might be committing fraud.
You can file the 5695 with free cash app electronic filing for the last 8 days or so but their interface is horrible.. The "official" 5695 instructions are now available on IRS.GOV. Even they don't specifically ask for specific equipment. It's up to the filer and thier equipment provider. If they (TT) were worried about entering not acceptable equipment, they would also worry about every other specific deduction you can take.
I think the 15th (sorry, typo) 7th will be the "real" date for TT this time.
I am also having this problem.
It's not recognizing that tax credit at all. Also, the way it is claimed, as a "property improvement" is confusing. That is, the help file says to claim it there, but geothermal credits have their own category... My read of the situation is that Turbotax is just wrong on this.
****NOTHING**** will be correct until TT finalizes the form. They clearly say that when you try to file,
The 5595 form isn't correct yet Per TT it should be finalized tomorrow the 7th then you will have to properly fill out your form.
It’s February 7th and my SEER 18 Heat Pump upgrade in 2023 is still only getting me a $300 credit…
the update is supposed to get updated Wednesday nights....it's available when I wake up on Thursday mornings. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!
Still waiting as of 2/7/24. IRS has finalized over a week ago.
Still no form for turbo tax as of 2/7/24
So by February 7th, they really meant February 8th?
Still have questions?
