It is 2/25/24 and still Turbo Tax Premier is unable to accommodate Energy Audit Credit. Since I was unable to get there via the step by step, I accessed form 5695 directly. On line 26a I selected the Yes box. Next I wanted to enter the amount I paid for the audit in line 26b; however I was unable to enter the amount unless I selected "override." Now the amount is there the way it should be. When will Turbo Tax fix this issue so I could enter the amount without the need to override?

Take a closer look at the screens as you go through the Home Energy Credit section. There is an entry to allow you to enter the cost of the home energy audit without needing to override the number directly on Form 5695.
You will find it after you answer 'yes' to the question Did you have any residential energy property costs in 2023?
Then, answer the two questions on the next screen, and finally you will get to the page titled, Enter your qualified energy property costs. The home energy audit cost is the fifth item down the list.
After you enter the cost of the audit, you will be asked for the address on the next screen. Enter the address of your main home since that is a requirement for the credit based on a home energy audit.
