Hello everyone,
I started a new job this past year and it's an hourly job. I made about 22K this past year. I'm a single mom and I've two dependents so my filing status is head of household. Turbotax is giving me a fedral refund for about $8000. I doubled check the numbers couple of times to make sure I'm not missing something. The refund seems high and I'm not sure if it would cause delays in getting my refund or possibility of audit since most of us make plans for our refunds.
Thanks!

No, the high refund will not cause a delay or trigger an automatic audit. However, taxpayers who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit may experience a refund hold. According to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, the IRS cannot issue these refunds before mid-February.
If you filed your income tax return after February 15, 2020, you should not experience a delay in your refund.
