Head of Household for grandchild but not my dependent

According to the IRS, I can claim Head of Household as my young grandchild lived in my home for the entire year. However, her father is claiming her as a dependent. Turbotax won't let me claim HOH unless I claim her as my dependent. How can I change this?

You will have to delete her as a dependent in the Personal Info section of  the desktop program if this what you want to do.  Then you would file as Single.

If you want to keep her as a dependent on your tax return and the father filed his tax return and it was accepted by the IRS, then you will have to print and mail your return.  Within a year the IRS will send both of you a letter to investigate.  The loser of the investigation will have to repay any tax refund plus penalties and interest.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for how to print and mail a tax return using the desktop editions - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/print-and-file/help/how-do-i-print-and-mail-a-return-in-the-turbot...

You can't.  In order to claim Head of Household, you must claim a dependent.  If you do not have a dependent, unless you are the custodial parent, you cannot claim head of household.
