Guidance for car rented from family friend as 1099 deduction

I am a 1099 employee who does in home sales. I rented a car for 6 months from a family friend and paid them for use but also paid for gas, maintenance, etc. How do I deduct this correctly?

Right now I've deducted itemized costs under the vehicle section for a car neither myself or a spouse owns (gas, maintenance, oil changes, cleaning etc) and also deducted the vehicle rental costs in the equipment rental deductions reflecting what I paid for the rental. Am I doing this correctly? Since the car was split about 80% business use 20% personal use I am aware I will have to apply 80% to these amounts for a correct deduction.
