Form 5695

My federal tax will not finalize because the software indicates that Form 5695 is incomplete.  I have input 0.00 for Kilowatt Capacity and 0. for qual fuel cell prop because I do not have fuel cell storage; however, I am constantly being returned to this section indicating that it is not complete.

It sounds like this Form input has caused problems in the past, including comments that it was supposed to be fix in early 2024.  Please advise.

When going through the Home Energy Credit section you are asked about Entering any Fuel Cell Property Improvements.  If you do not have a fuel cell property you should have left cost and the kilowatt capacity boxes blank (empty) and Continued.

Go back through the Home Energy Credits section and check your answers

To enter Home Energy Credits -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Deductions and Credit
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Under Your Home
On Home Energy Credits, click the start or update button
