I have tried every suggestion I can find in this community. I can not permanently delete Form 2441.
Here is what I've tried: Deleting the Deduction, and then through Tools deleting the form, following ALL steps. When I review to file, it comes up as incomplete.
-I wanted to delete my entire return and start again, but since I've paid I am unable to.
-There are suggestions to clear cookies and cache, sign-out, login again...tried it and doesn't work.
-There are suggestions to go to the Child Care Deductions and select Yes, follow screens to uncheck qualifying dependent etc...this does not work. I am in an endless loop where it ONLY asks me if I am disabled or a full-time student, then exits the entry screens and back to the main deduction page. It does not allow me to go through the questions and remove answers.
-I have tried new browsers...this does not work.
-I have used the search bar, to the "jump to" links in order to get to the questions I need to delete...this does not work.
-I have no W2 information as some suggest, as I live overseas and entered my income manually. So there is nothing auto-populating from a "box 10".
As I am overseas, I can not file by mail, and I can not e-file due to this glitch.
I am at a loss of what to do as I've already paid for this and spend SO many hours trying to solve this, where clearly it is a glitch in the system. If I was allowed to go back to entries and edit it would be fine, but alas this system is not allowing for that.
_I've read everyone entry on this community page and none of them are working. Seems there are MANY with similar issues, when will this bug be fixed?

Clearing form 2441 may be a two step process.
Thanks for replying but I have done this step a dozen times. When I click "yes", it takes me to one question whether I was disabled, a full-time student or neither...then when I select neither, I am taking back to the main deductions page. There is no way to navigate to the entry pages to remove the one check box for my qualifying dependent. I have searched and tried all "jump to" options, all tool options, all I mentioned in my previous post. I've double checked the health 1095 as well, as you stated, again it does not work.
It is definitely a bug, as it does not allow you navigate backwards through certain entry pages.
Thanks again, but still looking for a solution...I'm lost as to what to do...
First, I just want to say something that I am sure you already know, your due date as an American overseas is June 15th. I don't know if that makes you feel better, but it makes me feel better.
Second, why do you say that "As I am overseas, I can not file by mail". It must be something about where you are, because the IRS provides addresses for Americans overseas to file by mail.
As for what you have tried so far:
I am in an endless loop where it ONLY asks me if I am disabled or a full-time student, then exits the entry screens and back to the main deduction page.
You are asked this if TurboTax doesn't see any earned income on the part of one of the spouses. As you know, each spouse has to have earned income or be a full-time student or disabled. When you see this screen TurboTax has determined that one of you does not have earned income, and evidently you are not saying that that spouse if a student or disabled, so TurboTax ends the Child and Dependent Care interview because you (two) don't qualify. That's why you're being directed back to the main deductions page.
If you want to proceed through the interview, you need to lie to TurboTax and say that that spouse is a full-time student, so that you can proceed through the rest of the interview.
But I am puzzled. If you had 2441 information already entered, and both spouses had earned income, then I don't think you would have seen that initial "are you a full-time student or disabled?" screen.
When you try to e-file, what is actually happening? I don't think you have told us what the error is, but only that you want to delete the 2441. Was there an error message? a reject code?
Another question. When you deleted the 2441, did you go back to taxes then immediately return to the list of forms to see if the 2441 was there? If there is a trigger (like that box 10 on a W-2 that you don't have) then the form will reappear almost immediately.
So if we were not lucky and the preceding was no help, please come back and tell me what version of TurboTax you are using: Online or CD/download, and if the latter, Windows or Mac.
Then tell me if you are filing Married Joint, and how much earned income each spouse had. Also, since there were no W-2s, how was this earned income entered? Schedule C (sole proprietorship) is OK even in foreign countries, but pension and retirement income is not. Perhaps TurboTax is not recognizing that the income you entered was earned income.
OK, that's a start...
Thanks Bill.
I have no spouse and I do have foreign earned income. Due to interest bearing accounts I owed my state some taxes, but have since figured out how to get to the screen to pay that so I am not late.
I was going to leave it alone once I had paid, and manage to mail it by the June deadline...but figured I'd give it one more try and the "lying" suggestion...it WORKED!! I filled in the wrong information so I can access the questions. I was able to delete my daughter as a qualifying dependent! I then went back in to the main Dependent Care Screen and answered "no", deleted the form in tools...and I was finally able to e-file!
Thanks so much for that suggestion...I would not have considered lying just to access the questions and amend, but that was the magic answer!
Thanks again!
