Form 1098, Box 11 (Other) lists Tax Pd and the amount. Is this the property taxes asked in the TT 1098 section? Others answers indicate this is informational only.

Just needed to double check since it doesn't list a specific box number for this question.

Yes, the entry in Box 11 listing as Tax Paid and the amount is the amount of property taxes paid by your bank from your account. You can enter it as Property taxes in the 1098 section. Remember to NOT enter it again in the property tax deduction section.

Box 11 is an informational box, showing something that the lender wished to report to you.  Depending on how you report real estate taxes paid, you may or may not add this amount. Example, if you are paying directly to the town, the money would have to be added as it's in addition to other payments made.  2. If you have escrow and they report it, it is added back.  3. If you use the towns tax bill though you would not report it as the money is already included in the towns tax bill summary so be careful you do not double report taxes paid.
**I don't work for TT. Just trying to help. All the best.
