I'm an US citizen resident in the UK. I get US Social Security and pay UK taxes on it. Do I re-source this on form 1116? (I usually don't include it on my 1040 but take a treaty position on it, but this year I have to show it on my 1040. Since UK tax is higher than US tax, I never owe US tax.)

@marty8445 , have you looked at the article 17 of US-UK tax treaty ? Because it pretty much calls out which country can tax the Social Security and similar government pension scheme benefits.
I am not clear from your post as to what you have been doing with Social Security benefits in the past years and why you want to change.
