Purchased an eligible EV in 2023 (for the full $7500 credit) and TT is not letting me file it's saying a couple error messaged to include : "Qual. Plug-In Elec.Drive Motor Vech Wks (Vehicle 1: Tesla Model 3) ; Contract must be entered" another message discusses form 8936 has not been approved at this time.
The TT home screen gives me a date these forms will be available/fixed of 2/21/24, just wondering why such a delay? Never have used the EV credit before. Thanks!

The IRS Form 8936 Clean Vehicle Credit for tax year 2023 has not been finalized in TurboTax.
The form is scheduled to be available on 02/21/2024.
Go to this TurboTax website for forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...
Please check forms availability here. Select online, Windows, or Macintosh from the drop down menu. Whenever the federal and states change a form, we have to as well. This happens throughout tax season.
Thank you for your reply. Is there some reason specifically why the delay is so long for the form to update? Still 3 weeks away seems a bit excessive. Thanks!
This relevant form and the software that supports it needed major revamping from one year to the next.
You can compare Form 8936, Clean Vehicle Credits (2023) with Form 8936, Qualified Plug-in Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit (01/2022) and see the differences.
It’s just odd to me that it is so delayed in TT but available on the IRS website for filing purposes, regardless of the “major revamping”.
