@azsxsxsx101 , persons on exempt status ( i.e. exempt from counting days present towards SPT) need to file form 8843 confirming that they are in compliance with the rules of the status. Once you have come out of the exempt status there is no need to file 8843. And as you say you have now passed the SPT -- so 8843 is not germane any more.
If you have no world income ( after passing SPT and becoming a Resident for Tax purposes , you are taxed on world income ), there is no reason to file a tax return -- federal and/or State.
Which country are you from ?
Does this answer your query ?
I am from Vietnam, and I have been on the US since 2019 as F-1 student (high school - college).
I have no idea why but I cannot seem to get even campus jobs for my time in college. I have been filing 8843 till now. That was why I have no idea what to do after sprintax reject my filing this year.
for your word, since I have zero world income in 2024 tax year and I am not nonresident alien anymore, I don't have to file or sent anything to the irs this tax year?
@azsxsxsx101 , that is correct --- if there is no income, there is no need to file a tax return.
Wish you luck in finding something.
