CP267 - 941 Overpayment Refund

I received a CP267 notice from the IRS for 1st overpayment. I requested a check refund, and later confirmed the check was mailed on 10/11. I was told to wait 2-4 weeks, I’m close to the 4th week and wondering when should it arrive, and what should I be looking for in the mail.

If the IRS is mailing you a check it will be sent in an envelope via first class mail.   There will not be any sort of tracking number.  So watch your mailbox and open all mail even if it looks like a "junk mail" envelope.   Be aware that the IRS is severely backlogged so many things take much longer than normal.   Two to four weeks might turn into a longer wait.
