Confusion around moving expenses

I'm not from military and I moved to another state for work. TurboTax offered to deduct moving expenses though they were suspended (see the reference below). I had to answer that I didn't move (that's a lie) to force it to calculate my taxes correctly. But this didn't end. The application noticed the change in address and insisted on deducting moving expenses again! This is ridiculous! Please better test your software before releasing it to the public.

The corresponding article that TurboTax for Mac doesn't follow can be found in the article "Can I deduct my moving expenses?" on this website. Unfortunately, it didn't allow to post a link on itself.

P.S. Even on this page I couldn't choose the correct product - it offered only Windows in the Platform field.

P.S.2. Then, it failed to post this topic with the error: "Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied."

Confusion around moving expenses

Per the tax laws that changed for 2018 and beyond, moving expenses are not deductible on a federal return except for certain active duty members of the military.

There are several states that allow a deduction for moving expenses on the state return:  AZ, AR, CA, HI, IA, MA, MN, NJ, NY, PA and VA  You can enter your moving expenses in the federal software and the information will flow to your state return.

Thank you for the clarification. But help hints are still wrong. Most of them say that the deduction is available only for military personnel.
