A child age 17 or older is only eligible for the Other Dependent credit of $500. Being disabled is not relevant for this particular credit.
There is no additional Child tax credit for children with permanent disability. For a disabled child aged 17, the child tax credit is $500 (Other Dependent credit).
However, a disabled child can be a qualifying child for the earned Income credit at any age. A disabled child at any age is eligible for the Child and Dependent Care credit.
