Child and Dependent Care credit Question on eligibility

Hi I have a question about the child and dependent care credit and if we might be eligible in our current situation.

We are looking to get credit against ~$1500 of expenses that we have paid out of pocket for a care giver for our two-year-old.

We were connected to the company through our insurance as they provide respite care with trained nurses since our son some complex medical requirements. The care allows my wife and I to pursue work with our in the hands of a qualified caregiver.

I'm not sure if the initial bill could be used towards the Child Care credit since once our deductible is reached, our insurance will cover. If we did not use insurance, we would be paying out of pocket.

Thanks in advance!

Child and Dependent Care credit Question on eligibility

Based on your description of the situation, the amount that you spent out of pocket for the care provided to your son would qualify for the Child and Dependent Care Credit.  You would need the care provider company name, address, and Federal ID number in order to claim the credit.
