No, I didn't try the suggestion. But I have been checking it once a day and as of today it is now fixed! Thanks to the coder that found and fixed it.
Yes, the $600 deduction for MFJ is now available.
I am itemizing, even though I am about $300 under the Standard Deduction. "Itemize" is permanently selected. When I start the Federal Review / Smart Check the program automatically puts $600 into line 12b of Sked A. I remove it. I've removed it many times when making input changes. Each time the program puts it back for the review.
AS REPORTED: "However, the program still continues to have the amount of charitable contributions on line 12b, and the total of 12a and 12b being shown on 12c. So now it's double crediting the charitable contributions, once on Schedule A and the second time on line 12b. Figured you'd want to know to update the programming."
Request the programming error be corrected soon.
