can you get a tax credit on a retractable awning?

I had a very large retractable awning installed in 2023 to cut down on my A/C costs and cool the house down as my backyard gets full sun. The cost of the awning was $7159. Can I deduct the cost of the awning or at least the sales tax?

Sorry, there are no energy credits for awnings. You cannot deduct anything for the awning. Keep your records of the cost for someday when you sell the house.
