I have been trying to do all these “workarounds” for the past week and a half. I have tried everything mentioned in this thread to no avail. I am exhausted and need relief. What else can I try?
This helped my client fix that error code
😀
SUCCESS!!! After seven straight weeks of trying to combine 1098’s and submitting that way, I finally got it to work today. I actually entered two separate 1098’s (of the seven total). One was for my primary home I sold in Feb, 2020 that was in use over four years (so no issue with capital gains) and then others were the result of three moves in 2020, each with the loan initiated by the builder and then sold off. I labeled the second one “MULTIPLES (6)” and combined the interest, points and taxes as advised by both a CPA friend and TurboTax Professional (after a 90+min phone call). For loan origination date, I entered the oldest and deducted all the points for this tax file year.
The IRS and States of NY, MD and AZ all accepted the TurboTax forms.
Why can't turbo tax fix this simple problem. Are the developers there so dumb that they can't figure this out ?
On top of it the specialist on phone asked me to return the License bought at costco and buy the one from turbo-tax. How much more ridiculous can they be that they keep on insisting on it even after I told them that the issue can be seen on turbo tax website as well but they are not bothered. Somebody tell them the license does not do the math, it is the software which does it
I happened to check today and am no longer receiving an error for this. I was able to submit so it seems good to go, finally.
I got an email saying the problem was fixed and that all i need to do is log in to efile but I'm still having the same error message and I cannot move forward.
Try logging out of TurboTax and clear your Cache then log back in.
See the instructions below for clearing the Cache:
Once you clear the cache, log back into your Turbotax and run your review to see if you are able to e-file.
